What’s this all about?
You caught me- here I am talking about all kinds of things again. I ramble about bikes, and family, and Marketing, and Social Media, and literature… a lot of different things. I’d like to say I’m a Renaissance Man, but really I’m just a guy with a ton of opinions/ thoughts/ ideas who can’t/ won’t shut up. So this here thing is sort of a potpourri, a grab bag, a pot luck, a buffet, a crap fest. I’m here, I’m there, I’m everywhere and still nowhere… sounds pretty cool, huh?

Hi,
I enjoy the Spokesmen podcasts, but you seem horribly, horribly ignorant about firearms. As ignorant as many motor vehicle drivers are about our right to be on the road.
There is no correlation between firearm prevalence and homicide rates. There is no correlation between firearm prevalence and suicide rates. What do you have against firearms?
BTW, I work in public health.

I appreciate your view about firearms, but obviously disagree. My biggest disagreement with firearms is the extreme prevalence and access to “military grade weapons” or munitions. I grew up around a lot of guns in Alabama. I hunted, my entire family hunted, I have a healthy respect and knowledge of guns. But we don’t need to have the same weapons our military and police have to shoot deer or paper targets for “sport.” And if the belief is that we need them to protect ourselves from our own government, that’s a level of paranoia I can’t embrace- as well as delusional to believe we can fight off the greatest military in the world.
Add to the fact that I’ve had a roadrage driver shove a handgun into my face while on a bike, and I have even less empathy for the lack of gun control in our country.
We’ll have to agree to disagree. And that’s ok. It’s part of why countless thousands in our military have died to defend our freedoms.

Velo Time. you said “There is no correlation between firearm prevalence and homicide rates. There is no correlation between firearm prevalence and suicide rates”
What is prevalence? Do you mean ownership or use? and speaking of ignorance the NRA funded congress has banned the CDC from collecting data about gun deaths so how do you know anything you said is true? But re the suicide http://www.medicaldaily.com/gun-ownership-suicide-rates-387289 there are plenty of studies linking the two.
Re murder rates

you work in public health so you would support this move from the AMA I presume.

not sure if you aren’t a little ignorant yourself but we are all entitled to an opinion.

Hi Sugar, do you ship to Australia? How much is postage?

Bruce- order fulfillment and shipping is all handled via Castelli, so I am confident they will ship to Australia- though I have no idea what that may cost. I do know that the first version of the kit last year did ship to Belgium and a few other countries way outside the US … so it *can* be done!
